Jeremy Camp’s New Release We Cry Out 8/24

Beth August 23, 2010 14

I’m always in the mood for a new song, a great song, one that touches my heart and moves my soul.  The only kind of music I allow myself and kids to listen to is Christian music.  Oh I know you just think I’m saying that because I’m writing a review for a Christian artist but it’s true.  I started listening to WFRN 3-4 years ago.  First off I have to share something with you.  I have a terrible memory.  The radio station can say an artist name over and over and it never sinks in.  I will get in the house and google the lyrics to find them on youtube.  I have the radio on 85% of the day/night time at my house.  My kids nearly have songs memorized and yes they have their favorites.  One of my favorite songs on the radio is Jesus Saves.  Come to find out Jeremy Camp sings it.  But I found this out only by the album being sent to me.  I opened it up and just starred at the back..What??  Jeremy is the one that sings Jesus Saves?  How could I not know this.  Not only is his name a favorite in our home …I’m related ppl.  I should have picked up on the artist name from the radio station.  It brings tears to my eyes.  Here is a video blog from Jeremy Camp..watch it all..it’s great

First off all Jeremy truly comes from a Christian and talented home.  His father is a pastor and sings as well in a band.  His brother is starting his own music career.  And he also has another wonderful brother and sister.  His mother is fabulous- a beautiful heart and soul women.  He is also a father to two beautiful daughters and husband to Adie, also a Christian music artist.

To get himself out of the way, Camp, a rock artist who’s also an ordained minister, makes an
intentional return to worship on We Cry Out just as he did for his second album, Carried Me. In
this familiar setting, he often steps back from self-written tunes, choosing instead to celebrate
and share the latest praise songs by others that have been stirring his own spirit toward revival.
Jeremy explains, “This feels full circle—just coming in to make the record and saying, ‘whatever
you want, God.’ A lot of people don’t know that Carried Me was the first project I signed up to
do; I was launching as a worship artist. But we ended up debuting with a studio album (Stay),
because the content of those original songs related more directly to my personal testimony.”
(Camp’s first wife had just passed away months after their wedding when he was 23 years old).
We Cry Out is definitely marked by an air of Spirit-leading at every turn, which results in an easy
and rewarding listener experience. Recorded just outside of Nashville with award-winning
producer Brown Bannister (Amy Grant, MercyMe), it’s the first all-new set from Jeremy to
feature his excellent live band—guitarists Randy Williams and Andy Davis, bassist Walt Smith,
drummer Leif Skartland, and keyboard player Jacob Sooter. Their dynamic playing, a confident
mix of modern rock and modern worship, flows naturally with their singer’s creative goal here.
“We didn’t want to over think this. It was such a chill project,” Camp says. “I just wanted to be
obedient to what God has put on my heart in this time. We had been doing Hillsong’s ‘Mighty to
Save’ and Matt Redman’s ‘You Never Let Go’ on tour. I simply asked the band to ‘enter in’ and
help me make this an intentionally vertical, corporate worship style album through and through.”

Fab Views

I’m not going to pretend all of this soundtrack holds my favorite songs.  I can’t pick just one!  I wanted to share with you my favorite from the album but I love them all.  Ok, Jesus Saves..if I really have to choose.  Not just because Jeremy’s voice and beat are right on but the lyrics are so true to heart.   Jesus does Save!

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.

It might sound weird but my browser doesn’t seem to be able to display your article rightly… It looks like a whole chunk of if is not correctly displayed and the layout of the page doesn’t appear to be right. Can you confirm that this post has been set up for Opera?

My mother and I want to create a blog similar to this for our website, I stumbled across your site trying to get ideas on the theme as well as layout. I am taking some html coding course while attending college however, not confident that I would be able to produce a blog such as this one at this time. Did you code this blog by yourself or use an expert?
