I don’t know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves is the phone charging situation. I have a Blackberry. And an iPod. In addition, my son has an iPhone. My other kids have cell phones. It’s a little ridiculous. For one thing, finding enough outlets in a room is nearly impossible. For another, keeping all the chargers straight borders on the ridiculous.
The super-generous and super-cool folks at Powermat sent me a home and office mat as well as a portable mat, and the receivers I needed for the iPhone/iPod and the Blackberry. It was quick, easy, and painless to get it ready to use…and it was actually fun to use. Granted, I’m a soft touch when it comes to gadgets and technology, but the Powermat is the coolest thing to come down the pike in ages.
The Blackberry receiver was actually a battery cover that charges when you set it down on the Powermat. I leave it on my Blackberry all the time, so that way I’m ready to drop it right on the Powermat when it needs to charge. I shouldn’t even mention this, lest you think I’m a big geek, but…the Powermat makes this noise when I put my Blackberry on it, kinda like that Star Wars light saber sound. It’s a very tech-y sound. I love it. You’ll love it. But, the best part is, you know your phone is charging. How many times have you plugged in your phone, only to realize later that it wasn’t charging properly? It’s happened to me more than once. Ugh. That makes me batty. But now those days are history.
Then there’s the Universal Powercube Receiver, which comes with eight tips that will fit most LG phones, Sony phones, Motorola phones, Bluetooth headsets, GPS units, Samsung phones, some Kodak cameras, and so on. Are you kidding me? This thing is awesome!
The Powermat has made me a believer. I will never again resort to the old days when I was bound by archaic phone chargers, I can tell you that.
Powermat has got to be one of the best inventions of the decade. It will simplify and organize your life and your household. And, if your family has more chargeable hardware than mine (it charges iPods, iPhones, Blackberries, Nintendo DS, and cell phones), you NEED Powermat.
