If you’ve been checking out necklaces this summer, I know you’ve seen the statement necklace trend. I absolutely love it, its the perfect way to dress up a casual maxi dress or a plan tank or tee. Now this is not fact, but what I’ve concluded– J Crew started this craze with their amazing necklace that cost a small fortune. Take a look at it here. Since I wasn’t about to fork over $150, I was excited to find Blue Bird Bride and their similar Bubble Necklace. Not only is this necklace gorgeous, but its a fraction of the price! I would much rather get a necklace and maxi dress (or my entire outfit!) for the same price as the J Crew one.

Diane from Blue Bird Bride sent me a fabulous Bubble necklace to review and enjoy this summer. I decided on the turquoise one because its just such a hot color this summer. I have a lot of coral and peach in my wardrobe and I knew it would compliment those pieces nicely. When my necklace arrived, I was shocked at the weight of it. I own one other statement necklace that is heavy, but this one really feels sturdy. I love that quality in any of my jewelry, because with my kids you never know how tough my pieces will need to be! Each stone has a nice shine to it and the color is really beautiful in person. I am also pleased with the quality chain and hardware used for this. It has a heavier chain link to it, which gives it a more expensive look.

    Honestly, I haven’t bought jewelry in a couple of years… but I do prefer unique and inexpensive jewelry.

    I prefer shopping for unique pieces in more local shops, street fairs, Etsy, and Ebay.

    Back in the days of getting engaged and married, I bought all my jewelry at the bg chains. Now I much prefer checking checking out unique boutiques for truly special one-of-a-kind items

    I rarely buy jewelry in any mall. I love the Etsy sellers so if it isn’t something I can make myself I buy it there.

    I prefer shopping at outlet stores. Occasionally I’ll pick up a piece at the mall. And I LOVE finding items online or at flea markets. :)

    Personally I way prefer buying costume jewellery. That way, accessorizing is way more fun! And I’d be terrified I’d love that expensive piece that I saved up for. Cheap and cheerful all the way!

    I prefer handmade jewelry, so seldom buy expensive stuff….although i love it when my man does for me! ;) (not often though…we’re on a tight budget!)
