Schools in Session

I didn’t stutter school is in session for you my friend.  Finding the perfect sneakers or #2 pencils can be quite stressful.  Take another bit of that Annie’s pretzel and have a seat.  People are buzzing around like bees on pollen looking for the best deal, the best option, or if your like my husband the best way to find the exit.

I have three kids going to school this year. Cha-ching.  I already spent $15 on 26 Expo markers my kids need.  But other than that I have yet to do any school supply shopping.  Filling those backpacks for the first day of school can be overwhelming.  I mean, the Kleenex boxes alone are space consuming.  Tell me you too have to buy 3 boxes per child.

Best Backpacks for School

Lesson #2

If your wondering where lesson #1 is you’ll have to refer to this post.  That was our back to school fashion for girls post.

Don’t leave home with out it.  I contains your homework.  In this lesson your dog didn’t eat it.  It carries your phone, ipod, or mp3 player and your important books, of course.  It may even house a love letter to a certain gal you don’t anyone seeing.  If you guessed your favorite backpack you get an A+.

Finding the best backpack checklist:

  • Fits to your size
  • Comfortable shoulder straps
  • Enough storage
  • Design/style
  • Durability
  • Cost

Ogio offers a great selection of backpacks for back to school kids.  Modern design and thick, durable fabrics give this backpack a mom approved thumbs up.  What Kaleb likes most about the Spectrum is not the many compartments or custom interior lining (those are my faves) but the cut of the backpack.  It’s not bulking and fits right on his back without the look of carrying a baboon on his back, like some previous backpacks have mimicked.  Another thing we love is the unique fabric and feel.  The straps are wide and cushioned with comfort for a non-irritating stroll to school. “Padded shoulder straps help prevent the straps from digging into your child’s shoulders, back, and neck,” says Hennrikus. (source: WebMD). It’s not your cookie cutter backpack that you see often in school.  It offers personality and uniqueness.  And it’s just a backpack!  To be quit honest with my son going into 5th grade I’m sure he’ll get his workout with this favorite backpack.  My daughter found out last month that she has scoliosis.  This big discovery has carved a new thinking while school shopping.  Finding a backpack that suits their needs and protects their back is key.
