This past week (September 8th) was National Clean Out Your Garage Week and at our house, we took full advantage of the holiday. Our garage is usually pretty cluttered between bikes, wagons, and tools. Of course we also have to fit our cars in there, too! We really needed to do some organizing though, because we were always tripping over a cord or broom when we’re in the garage.
This year, Ace Hardware and Quickie are joining The Lehigh Group, manufacturer of Crawford branded garage organization products, making the 2012 program the largest campaign to date. The observance is not just about cleaning out your garage, its also to help educate Americans on garage safety as well.
Here’s a few stats:
- Nearly four in 10 (39 percent) have tripped over an item in their garage.
- More than a quarter (27 percent) have hit an object when opening a vehicle door.
- 22 percent have accidentally hit something when parking.
We’ve definitely contributed to those stats in our household. So when we were sent a Garage Organization Kit (worth $83.16) to try out, we were ecstatic. My husband is always trying to organize our garage, but he gets frustrated with everything that needs to be in there. With this kit, he was able to hang our cleaning tools up and out of the way. This was a huge improvement for us, no more kids pulling the large brooms down and hitting our cars with it.
We’re giving away one of the same Garage Organization kits we received!
