back to life
back to reality
Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened. -Dr. Seuss
As we wind down the summer routine and embrass our new beginnings let us not forget to smile. This, my friends, is 4th grade. Let me introduce you to blooming attitudes, complicated math, and new friends. As we embark on the 2013 school year remember your back to school fashion trends.
This is my little lovely. She is, yes, nine years old and a newly hatched 4th grader. She is very crafty, artsy, and a bookworm. She is careful, organized, and a vegetarian. I’m sensitive to her. She has lupus of the skin, which is extremely rare, but luckily is only cosmetic and not in her bloodstream (double high fives..high ten?!). She has damage in her right thigh from her lupus which doesn’t seem to bother her. Unfortunately the fat under her skin had died and left serious dents in her thigh. I could only dream of her never caring about it but as a women myself I know the day will come when she detests it. Until then I flourish and envy her state of selflessness and beauty.
Belle’s style is mine. She could care two whiplashes about style so that leaves moi to take the horse reins. I’m her fashion designer at large which, I don’t know, makes all of us happy.
What’s better than me playing fashion stylist? A model that doesn’t complain. Like a mannequin but only cooler. Way cooler. So what are the fashion trends for back to school 2013? So glad you asked. It is all about the 80s. How many times can we bring back the 80s and it NOT be awkward. In the 90s I thought there was a better chance of another ice age than a repeat of the 80s. Now I wear leggings, huge socks, and tight roll..who knew these techniques would benefit us all someday. I feel almost as if I have somehow contributed to society by being a 80s pre-teen. Alas, yes high pony tales, wearing printed tights with short shorts, booties, and layering this all with neon socks. Like 3 layers of neon socks. Bet that’ll smell. If your fashion doesn’t make you hurt or smell your doing something wrong. Whew back to 4th graders…(can I get an Amen!). So now you know my daughter is all about play and not about fashion let’s move to another point.
Mmmm. Yes, I have bought more cheap, pathetic, never going to pass the 1st grade sneakers than I care to count. Well, if I just save $10 it will look good for my budget. Then I have to buy another pair the next month. –negative. Then again in the spring. –negative. How about buying a quality fashionable shoe that will last until the end of the year. Ding Ding. We have a taker!
Just when you thought booties were for babies…girl have a re-check. The bootie style boots above speak for themselves. Let me introduce you to Umi Shoes. Offering style. Quality. Unique-ness. Affordable. Lovely. Style. Your in love, I know I get it. Me too! I have reviewed a lot of Umi Shoes and they are hands down best quality shoes for my kids. I can count on them to survive the next year or be packaged for my younger kids for a double dose (2nd hand).
Umi Shoes has a wide selection in their fall line for back to school. Check out their moccasins, sandals, sneakers, ballet flats, loafers and that is just some of the Big Girls Umi Shoes line. You can shop UmiBaby, UmiToddler for Boys and Girls, UmiLittle for Boys and Girls, and UmiBig for Boys and Girls. You can’t be on the recess field to tell your 6 yr old son to “slow down” or “don’t try to make that jump” but you can help protect their feet and support their landing. It starts with a smart shoe with premium soles and durable fabrics. Psstttt the UmiBig Boys suede boots line is fantastic. Check it out now before you forget you read this post.
As I mentioned earlier Umi Shoes are always top quality. We hand down Belle’s shoes to Alivia when she grows out of them and no matter how hard she plays or how many times she jumps rope her shoes hold up. The Fall Umi Shoe line is so competitive. The easy part was picking which child gets to review the shoes. Belle is crazy about Umi Shoes so I knew I couldn’t let her down. I was drawing near the Irena II flat with heart patterns and a large heart on the top but then we saw Ranna II. Belle and I decided Ranna II would be a smart pick for Fall with cooler temps. The fun bold colors and black suede fabric warm your heart and rock their style. In Her Words: “umm, hmm they are cool”.
